I'm SOOOO excited!

We got our first egg today! Check it out!
I think it was laid by either my Cream Serama, Cutie Pie, or my Barred Plymouth Rock, Miss Betty... If it was the Cutie Pie, it's a good size for her first egg since she's a Bantam... which makes me think it may have been Miss Betty after all... either way, I'm so excited!!!

Wow, how exciting! We are getting chickens in the spring. What kind of coop do you have? We are going to start building ours soon! I can imagine the excitement you felt getting that egg!!

well done for persevering with the council- we live in Lower Hutt New Zealand and have 5 chooks who we love and feed well- they reward us with 3-4 delicious eggs per day and the joy of chook antics and dramas. I agree the eggs are superior to supermarket ones

Congrats! I remember our first egg. Enjoyed reading through your blog. Didn't realize folks in town have had difficulty getting "permission" to have chickens. I'm in the country part of Wake Forest. All of my neighbors have chickens...roosters included. You gotta love 'em!
